About Afaq:
Afaq newspaper was established in 1978 as a result of the university administration desire for the need to establish a newspaper that highlights the university mission in an intellectual and cultural advancement, development of human wealth and implementation of media policy. Accordingly, Afaq newspaper was established and headed by Dr. Saif Abbas. The newspaper witnessed a great development in the count of pages, directed and contributed by students during the past years.
Afaq newspaper exceeded 1000 issues, and 18099473 visitors to its website. It was headed as its Editor- in-Chief by fifteen professors, including three ministers.
Afaq Goals:
1- Encourage journalistic skills to highlight university concerns.
2- Support the activity of the university community in all its components and affirm its right to express itself.
3- Develop skills and talents of university students and create the appropriate environment to encourage creativity.
4- Train university students to the arts of journalistic work.
5- Track important university events and documenting the facts.

Afaq aims with its media policy to create press cadres with clear goals to serve Kuwaiti society,
through true understanding of press messenger to the society, which bears a great responsibility to educate the public.
A society that desires success and seeks future prospects with correct understanding and clear goals that
place it in the ranks of civilized nations.
Afaq witnessed the beginning of many writers and editors working in local newspapers, and a large group
of brilliant journalists who are at the forefront of local newspaper pages, whether as writers or editors.
Afaq always welcome your contributions and participation in news making, investigation work,
press interviews and articles, and it will always remain a base for launch promising future in the practical life.
